First, let’s take a look at the different methods used in extra-sensory or psychic readings. A professional psychic may employ many different tools during a psychic reading, or they may need none at all! It can be done in person, or even over a long-distance. Another type of psychic reading is an aura reading. Aura readers are able to see the aura that each person holds, in the form of colorful lines that emanate from the surface of their bodies. Each person’s aura is unique to them, and can differ in color, shape, size and intensity. An aura reader is able to interpret an individual’s aura and can tell what this person is feeling and thinking without any words. A bright and clean aura is said to be that of a spiritual or well-intentioned person, while a gray or dull aura is that of someone who is unsure, and may even be dishonest. An aura reader may even be able to detect a malfunction or disease in your body by reading your aura!

While palm, tarot card, rune reading, astrology and numerology do not require psychic abilities; they are still used in psychic readings. These are all skills that are learned, some of which have been around since ancient times! Astrology, for example, predates many of today’s scientific methods of astral study. A rune reading is the divination of stones or tiles on which the runic alphabet is written or carved. The runic alphabet is said to date back to 150 AD! Usually when you think of a card reading, tarot comes to mind, but actually cartomancy is any fortune telling or divination using a deck of cards. The practice of tarot card reading became popular in around the 18th or 19th century!

I never get “free” psychic readings. Want to know why? I’ve never had a good experience with them! After almost 20 years of psychic readings, research and writing both personally and professionally alike, it always astounds me how many people are interested in free readings…and then expect them to be good! It’s tantamount to having a crisis with your car, and searching the yellow pages for FREE auto mechanics.

With this in mind, and after a rich reservoir of experiences with all sorts of psychics, here are the 2 MOST important reasons why I recommend my readers don’t search for free psychics, and instead…wait until they can spend a few bucks before they begin to search for psychics.

Reason #1?

Most FREE psychics aren’t really free. It’s more or less a marketing manipulation to get you to call. Why would they do this? Because once on the phone, many people are vulnerable to being SOLD on more expensive services, memberships and even monthly continuity programs. I don’t find this to be ethical…and I simply don’t TRUST the services that employ these style tactics as well. In this respect…”free” can often turn into a cash commitment you did NOT want to make, but feel pressured to pay because you aren’t good at saying NO! (most of us aren’t)

Reason #2?

I’ve simply NEVER gotten a free reading that was any good. The only exception to this rule is from friends who are professional readers, but that doesn’t apply to most of the people who are reading this. (as most of you haven’t been writing about psychic readings as long as I have!) But when it comes to calling a new service as a customer or client myself, I’ve found the “free” offers out there to be generally canned, scripted and sort of silly. Have there been a few exceptions to this over the years? Yes, there are one or two services that DO offer a genuine free reading before they’ll ask you to pay…..but compared to the hundreds of networks who DON’T, as a rule, I recommend you save your money and wait until you can AFFORD a small reading first. (remember…..you CAN get a great reading for 15 or 20 dollars, which is a SMALL price to pay for a legitimate psychic or service)

Many people are cynical about the existence of real psychics in the world. Even if you glance around, you will find the existence of a lot of psychics in your surroundings. For example, the bond that twins share is a psychic one. They can understand what is going on the other’s mind. They share a natural bond of telepathy. This is what psychics do. Every human being has the ability to be a psychic and learn the nuances. Have you not ever thought something and it has come true? He had also predicted the assassinations of some American presidents exactly the way they happened. After Nostradamus, the world has seen some other gifted psychics who have further predicted the recent future. Though such people deal with the paranormal, they should not be perceived to be some kind of freaks. A more domestic term for psychics can be telepathy, which is in great prominence and can be proven scientifically as well. This phenomenon is easily witnessed in twins.

One can surely go to real psychics in order to seek the answers to the questions and witness the unforeseen future, but it is important to determine first that the psychic is a genuine one. Always remember to do a background check on the person before spilling out your innermost secrets and intimate details. There are a number of types of psychic and you can choose the one you are most comfortable with. Tarot reading, aura reading, rune reading, cartomancy and numerology are some of the types. If you wish to communicate directly with the dead, you can even do so via real psychics who will create a medium for you to talk to the people who are dead. Not being cynical is a very important thing when you seek help from psychic powers.
